Partnering to get the Development You Want – CAPITAL

Private sector infill development projects are hard.  They are even harder in rural communities due to limited institutional interest, unproven markets and passionate ʻaccidental developersʻ without a big track record.

DCI, as part of its collaboration with Building Small, has developed a three part series on how the public sector can be better partners to achieve the kind of development their communities want.

The first webinar will unpack the basics of project financing, the unique opportunities and challenges Small developers face, and how local partners may be able to help close the gaps. Participants will gain a better understanding of basic project capital structure, where gaps lie and where community and public dollars might unlock potential projects that could be catalytic to the communityʻs economic and quality of life goals.

Future webinars will discuss creative financing tools, ʻbut forʻ funding strategies and resources that both the community and developer should be aware of to help realize the projects the community seeks.
